Rhythm Beads encourage your horse to follow a rhythm or cadence,  The soft jingle of the solid brass bells accentuates the rhythm of horse's gaits, which is useful for adjusting the tempo/rhythm of the horse's movements. The bells help the rider pick up the correct diagonal and detect whether they are cantering/loping on the correct lead. Rhythm Beads….'helping horses and riders get in rhythm' and ride as one, who wouldn't want that?

Rhythm beads are an excellent resource for all riding disciplines, including training and desensitizing young horses. On the trail, the bells are useful for alerting both wildlife and other riders that you are approaching. The subtle and soothing jingle of the bells create a 'white noise' effectively blocking distractions in the arena or on the trail which makes them great for the nervous or spooky horse.

HISTORY
Dating back prior to Native Indians, adornment of the bridle, mane and saddle were common, Indians used to weave feathers and shells into the horses mane to encourage speed, power and safety.  Looking back at all the images of ancient times you would see the beautiful art of beaded bridles and tassles adorning the horses, is it any wonder we would want to use the bells and beauty of the beads not only to adorn but the help both horse and rider to ride as one?

Today they are used in all types of everyday use, parades, shows, endurance riding (what a pleasure to listen to the bells on those long rides) and trail riding for pleasure.  When riding in a group, it's nice to not have to look back to make sure everyone is behind you, no need, you will hear them!

All of my Rhythm Beads are handmade by me and I generally go on the fly with colors and designs so they are not always duplicated although most can be.  I strive to make them special.   I use solid brass bells and chrome/nickel plated brass. They are strung on a weatherproof cord that is a 310 pound test. It WILL break if horse gets caught but strong enough to ride bridleless with "savvy".  (not recommended if you have not ridden brideless before) My Rhythm Beads are made with plastic beads, glass beads, and wood beads with silver or gold accent beads, some have bells with a variety of pendants or you can choose to have all bells on it.   You can order one premade as shown or have one made up by choosing your own colors to match blankets/barn colors or just to enhance the beauty of your horse!
